TESTIMONIALS – WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT OUR TRAINING

Very impressed with Carolyn’s presentation and her mix of actual experience of DID and what is helpful for a therapist to know.

LB

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, London, April 2018

What a fantastic CPD. One of the best I have been to!

AR

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, London, April 2018

Carolyn provides a safe structured day where the complexities of trauma and it’s effects are both simplified and normalised. As a therapist I gained a deeper insight to working with clients and building a framework for potential healing. As a survivor I came away with a greater understanding and compassion for my own strategies.

PODS training is invaluable for all involved in counselling, psychological and pastoral work. A vital learning for anyone involved in the care of vulnerable individuals.

JG

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, London, April 2018

I don’t always look forward to weekend courses after a weeks work but Carolyn never fails to make the day worthwhile – brilliant resources available and a very well organised event – well worth the money. Thank you Carolyn and team – hope to see you in June!

AP

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Manchester, March 2018

In 38 years of mostly very good Civil Service training courses and 16 years counselling courses I have never experienced better training or a more excellent trainer. From start to finish the arrangements and course organization are superb, and on the day not a minute is wasted. Caroline is definitely up there with the very best!!

TF

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Manchester, March 2018

Carolyn is truly inspirational on many different levels. She is an amazingly engaging speaker. Clearly quite brilliant and very driven in her desire to help others, not only those who suffer DID but also the likes of us, the therapists, who want to do our level best in understanding the issues.

SW

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Manchester, March 2018

Carolyn is a great speaker who brings so much to this field of work through her honest vulnerability simplifying complex theory into real life helpful ways to heal.

SM

Trauma, Dissociation & Recovery, London, July 2017

This course/weekend has been the best training/CPD event that I’ve ever attended. It was excellent both in terms of content and structure. Carolyn is an excellent, engaging and inspiring speaker who embodies hope.

CW

Child Sexual Abuse, Bristol, June 2017

I have attended many training days/workshop events in the four decades when I have worked in NHS, Social Care, and Education, and I cannot remember such ever attending such a brilliant workshop. I thought it was well structured, with clear comprehensive information, excellent visual aids, and handouts, knowledgeable presenter who clearly knew her topic, I thought she was dynamic. I was kept fully engaged with the information provided and the day just flew. The way the information was delivered, and the way the day was structured was very clever.

AC

Working with Relational Trauma, Bradford, May 2017

Perhaps the most professionally- presented workshop I have ever attended: from written material to PowerPoint to Carolyn’s presentation – with a clarity of focus on disseminating her passion, informed by her own experiences but not overwhelmed by them.

DH

Working with Relational Trauma, Bradford, May 2017

A comprehensive insight to an area that is not widely covered or understood. Sensitive and sensible, this training is a MUST for psychotherapists and counsellors.

SL

Working with Relational Trauma, London, July 2017

Life-changing experience.

SG

Working with Relational Trauma, Nottingham, March 2017

This is one of the best training days I have ever attended. Educational, inspirational, informative, easy to understand and easy to take to my own practice.

CM

Working with Relational Trauma, London, July 2017

This training was one of the best experiences of my life and I will be ever in debt to Carolyn for sharing so much, for her authenticity.  I often explore the idea with a client that the great thing about ‘our shit’ is that we can make use of it to grow.  In this training, one amazing person, did that; I get that is the only person she can be now  (i.e. fully authentic to herself) and how wonderful that her harvest means that we can be so well fed … how fortunate am I! I am already making so much use of this day in the work and in my life.

TR

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Nottingham, November 2017

My big take away was the enormous hope that Carolyn gives and embodies, of overcoming atrocities, digesting the indigestible, and emerging as an educator with heart, intelligence and soul.  This gives hope not only for overcoming horrific abuse, but also for overcoming anything that appears insurmountable.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

WB

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Bristol, October 2017

I am so impressed with the attention to detail in all that the team at PODS do – it makes for a very slick operation.

It all made sense, although the information was quite detailed and there was a lot to learn. Thank you so much for your dedication and commitment.

TH

Working with Relational Trauma, Peterborough, November 2017

It was brilliant. I was terrified of coming but have gained so much. Was very useful that it was made clear from the start that no one had to interact with anyone else in small groups if they did not want to. I cannot thank you enough.

ML

Dissociation and DID: The Fundamentals, Stirling, June 2017

Carolyn’s life experiences, and what she shared, brought the training alive, her delivery was honest, well organised and articulate – I found it captivating. The balance of theory and experiences was just right and gave me all the information and answers I needed to help me going forward. The buzz groups were a great idea to break up the information.

EW

AN

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Bristol, April 2018

Thank you. Today was my first PODS training day, I found it a very informative both on a personal level looking at my own trauma as well as confidence and reassurance that I can work with trauma, it’s given me the clarity and confidence that i am more equipped than I give myself credit for in terms of offering myself as a therapist equipped to work with DID clients.

ZF

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Crawley, April 2018

I really appreciate your passion to translate complex theory into understandable English.

WF

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, London, April 2018

All the PODS courses I’ve attended have been excellent – practical help, education and support for all therapists attempting to help all traumatised clients – not just specifically DID. Answers the questions I needed to ask. Beautifully, concisely delivered and superbly organised without huge expense to us.

MS

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Manchester, March 2018

Carolyn was possibly the most engaging speaker I’ve heard – clear, succinct, compassionate, honest, a bit of humour, and she clearly spoke from a deep knowledge/experience. Usually by the end of a day I’m struggling to stay alert, but not today!

AM

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Manchester, March 2018

Another Masterclass from Carolyn & her team!! Carolyn is a truly amazing trainer!! She makes a complex subject, easy to understand & follow. Her passion is infectious…

VW

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Manchester, March 2018

Inspiring, informative, relevant. One of the best training days I have attended, totally relevant for my job, fantastic trainer.

RA

Trauma, Dissociation & Recovery, London, July 2017

An excellent day crammed with essential information to better understand and support.”

SB

Child Sexual Abuse, Bristol, June 2017

I was blown away by your presentation of the subjects and by the professional organisation. It was by far the best course I have attended and the quality of the materials provided was excellent. The combination of solid, well researched material and personal experience was a powerful and humbling. I would not hesitate to recommend this training to others and I will definitely be attending more in the future.

SB

Child Sexual Abuse, Bristol, June 2017

Captivating, empowering and motivating. Carolyn takes something ugly and turns it into something beautiful.

RB

Dissociation & DID: The Fundamentals, Bristol, June 2017

It was the most impressive training day I have attended and will pass this on to other people. I previously taught for 30 years and professionally trained teachers have never delivered such a high standard in my opinion. All credit from the welcome and personal handing over of packs on arriving. The quality of printed materials was outstanding. The slick delivery of slides/film and talk was perfectly balanced, the delivery of knowledge used perfectly-pitched vocabulary and tone to elucidate and inform, humour when used briefly released tension which the listener was sometimes unaware had built up (particularly on the day covering child sexual abuse), music and the timer on screen alerted people to keeping to time without all that ‘fawning apology to stop talking’ which is so common at other events. Loved that questions were restricted to the end as no deviation from content. I was extremely impressed.

TH

Child Sexual Abuse, Nottingham, March 2017

Incredibly articulate presentation that felt real and fresh and meaningful. I felt enabled and empowered by the day and will be back for more. I feel I’ve learned enough to be immediately more helpful to my current clients but want to learn more too. One of the best courses I’ve ever attended.

AC

DID and Dissociation: The Fundamentals, Bradford, May 2017

One of the most touching moments was how Carolyn thanked the therapists for the work we do – in my row several tears were shed. What a demonstration of your deep humanity! On reflection I was also astounded at your courage on taking a long Q & A at the end of each day, when you were tired, when anything could have been thrown at you. What a demonstration of inner strength, self-confidence, self-knowledge. Your generosity throughout both days, generosity of spirit as well as in all the materials you provide, speaks volumes of who you are.

SE

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice & DID and Dissociation: The Fundamentals, Bristol, October 2017

I found the training excellent and one of the best I have been on. This was due to the trainer’s inspiring and informative presentation of the material. I feel better equipped to treat clients with PTSD now due to the knowledge and insight I have gained from the course. It was very reassuring too to hear Carolyn acknowledge and normalise the fears we hold as therapists, and her encouragement to share the responsibility of getting well with our clients.

MB

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Bristol, October 2017

I thought that the resources were really good and helped me both during the presentation and when I returned home. Thank you very much for two really enjoyable days.

JP

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice & DID and Dissociation: The Fundamentals, Bristol, October 2017

Thank you. It was brilliant as always. Don’t change a thing!

bo

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Nottingham, November 2017

Thank you for making the trip to Scotland to share your passion for recovery for dissociative survivors with us. It was an inspirational day. Carolyn presented complex theory, neuroscience and broad systemic issues relating to dissociation and DID in a way that was easy to understand. The interweaving of her own narrative throughout the training made this unique and brought to life how this complex defence against trauma and overwhelming experiences could present in various ways/in various part of the NHS. As a hospital-based clinician this furthered my motivation to work towards embedding trauma-informed practice within my service and, over time, in other key hospital departments. Thank you for your passion and also for your compassion which was conveyed throughout the training, not just for fellow survivors but also for imperfect professionals and imperfect services. Hopefully we get it right more than we get it wrong for survivors, and your

training and organisation will certainly help to support this process of change.

RP

Dissociation and DID: The Fundamentals & Child Sexual Abuse: Hope for Healing, Stirling, June 2017

Carolyn is inspiring. I’ve heard many similarly knowledgeable trauma trainers, however Carolyn’s humanity and courage are humbling, and I loved her style of delivery. I was very moved by how she brought herself so authentically to the training.

KW

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Rotherham, May 2018

Another great day of training from PODS team! I’ve been attending various days in Rotherham and Nottingham since 2014 and always found you to be well organised, welcoming and valuable to my CPD learning. Carolyn is such an inspirational and engaging speaker, the time seems to fly by listening to her. Although I leave tired (in a good way!) I leave with a lot to reflect on and apply to my client work. I now look forward to your new suicide awareness training. Thank you.

AN

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Rotherham, May 2018

A thoroughly enjoyable day.

JW

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, London, April 2018

Thank you.

JL

Dissociation and DID: The Fundamentals, Bristol, October 2017

All PODS training days are fantastic and well worth the money but this workshop exceeded all expectations as I now feel able to understand the part the brain plays in trauma and response. This workshop has changed me as a therapist: I feel equipped to work effectively with trauma and dissociation. An exceptional experience.

RB

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Huntingdon, January 2018

Yet again I found this an exceptionally informative, professionally-run and immediately useful day, bringing many of the concepts from previous workshops together, re-presenting complex ideas in easily understandable and reusable concepts. I found myself throughout the day thinking of specific clients and how to use insights with them.

JM

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Darlington, February 2018

I cannot tell you how much I enjoy PODS coming to Darlington and providing training. Carolyn is one of the most wonderful, grounded, humble, knowledgeable women I have ever met. Her teaching style of making things simplistic and for me personally ‘dumbing it down’ along with her giving very personal examples and accounts working parallel with the training content is a skill in itself. I leave the PODS training feeling inspired with greater understanding of the topic. I also like all the resources and the delegate packs provided. Thank you so much!

CS

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Darlington, February 2018

A very encouraging day for me as a counsellor. Gained so much useful information and new insight to a painful area of work. Thank you so much Carolyn.

AV

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Darlington, February 2018

Your passion, Carolyn, in wanting to help clinicians was palpable and I came away feeling more confident should someone show parts in my therapy room – that I could feel my way with that.  Although I have worked a lot with trauma and some dissociation, parts is beyond my experience.  I always feel I need a piece of paper to say I can work with ‘this’!  And all that you offer in time and resources has reminded me of what I know, and that focussing on the trauma is what is most needed.  A big thank you to you and the team for a thoroughly well-informed training day.

SS

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Huntingdon, January 2018

I have found the training from PODS absolutely invaluable to my therapeutic practice. (I think this was the 5th seminar I have attended/completed online). I am extremely grateful to Carolyn for the inspiration and information that she provides to me as a practitioner. The hope that ‘change is possible’ for the client sitting in front of me is priceless. Thank you!

SU

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Bristol, April 2018

Carolyn writes and delivers just what is needed in an engaging humorous way. I send my heartfelt congratulations to her for modelling being just as she said, the best she can be, the girl in the wellies who manifests change.

NC

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Bristol, April 2018

I always enjoy listening to Carolyn. I feel inspired to carry on with what I am trying to do and more determined to try to be the person I need to be for Survivors.

SH

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Bristol, April 2018

Carolyn engages you from the very first words and makes the complex simple and the scary understandable. Coming from a place of having actually experienced what she is talking about rather than just having learnt about it academically makes a real difference

DW

Working with Dissociative Disorders in Clinical Practice, Crawley, April 2018
